🧱 Exterior Mortar Patch – Application Instructions

Ensure proper adhesion and a long-lasting repair by following these steps:

🧼 Surface Preparation

  • Chip away all cracked and loose mortar using a chisel or masonry tool
    • ⚠️ Wear safety goggles to protect eyes from debris
  • Brush joints thoroughly with fresh water or mist with a spray bottle
  • This removes residual dust and prevents the existing mortar from drawing moisture out of the new patch

🎨 Application

  • Apply mortar using a pie-shaped trowel for traditional joints or a caulking gun for precision and ease
  • Fill critical joints first, especially vertical seams, followed by horizontal joints
  • Smooth and shape the mortar to match surrounding surfaces for a uniform finish
  • Allow to air cure—product remains flexible and will not become dry or brittle over time
  • Dries to a natural concrete color and is paintable once cured

🧽 Cleanup

  • Clean tools immediately after use with soap and water, scrubbing with a stiff brush if needed

🧱 Exterior Mortar Patch – Application & Curing Instructions

Ensure a strong, flexible, and long-lasting seal by following these steps:

🧼 Surface Preparation

  • Chip away all cracked and loose mortar using a chisel or masonry tool
    • ⚠️ Wear safety goggles to protect eyes from flying debris
  • Brush joints with fresh water or mist with a spray bottle
  • This removes dust and prevents the existing mortar from drawing moisture out of the new patch, which can lead to cracking or brittleness

🎨 Application

  • Apply mortar using a pie-shaped trowel or caulking gun for precision
  • Fill critical vertical joints first, followed by horizontal seams
  • Smooth and shape the mortar to match surrounding surfaces
  • Product dries to a natural concrete color and remains permanently flexible—won’t dry out or become brittle

💧 Curing & Aftercare

  • After application, spray water lightly on the repaired area to aid curing
    • You can repeat this daily for 2–3 days to maintain moisture
  • Cover the patched area with plastic sheeting or a damp cloth for a couple of days to slow evaporation and promote proper curing
  • If the patch appears cracked or brittle, it likely means insufficient moisture was present in the old brick or mortar during application

🧽 Cleanup

  • Clean tools immediately after use with soap and water, scrubbing with a stiff brush if needed
