For best results, follow these steps to ensure proper adhesion, coverage, and long-term protection:
π§Ό Surface Preparation
- Use a wire brush to thoroughly clean the entire crown surface, removing loose debris, mold, and dirt that may interfere with adhesion
- Apply duct tape around the perimeter of the flue tile, approximately 1″ above the crown, to create a clean edge
- Apply another line of duct tape around the base of the crown to protect surrounding masonry
- Fill minor cracks with exterior acrylic caulk and allow to set for 10β15 minutes until tacky
π¨ Product Application
- Apply a thin first coat of Brushable Crown Repair using a stiff brush
- Allow it to set for 5 minutes until tacky
- Apply a second, heavier coat, smoothing evenly across the surface
- In hot weather, the product may set quicklyβmist the surface lightly with water using a spray bottle to ease spreading and improve workability
- Once finished, remove duct tape for clean edges

- Clean tools immediately after use with soap, water, and a stiff brush
- Product dries to the touch in 30β60 minutes, and fully cures in 2β3 hours
- Once cured, it is paintable and safe for exterior exposure
