One time use, toss in to an active medium fire (325°-325°).
Soot is unburned carbonaceous particles that cling to combustion chamber walls and the inside of flue and chimney passages. Soot can, over time, build-up enough to obstruct the normal passage of flue gases (smoke) and cause a chimney fire.

2 table spoons into active medium fire every third fire or every other day if burning 24/7.
